If there is one thing that absolutely every dog fears, it’s getting abandoned. It’s such a traumatic event that leaves them scarred for life.
Many find it very difficult to trust another person when they realize it can happen again. This is truly horrible.
When it comes to this adorable little pooch, he was abandoned by a neglectful owner near a road with only a dirty shirt to sleep on.
While other people noticed the dog was there, they just ignored him completely until a kind rescuer came to save him.
A Kind Rescuer
The rescuer was in a hurry to help the puppy. When he arrived at his location, the pup looked so hurt. He understood that he was abandoned.
He spent three days just watching the road and hoping that his owner would come back for him but it never happened.
The rescuer then carefully took the dog and placed him in his car. He didn’t want to leave his spot so he started crying. I guess a part of him was still hoping he would see his owner.
They drove for an hour to the nearest veterinarian clinic where the puppy received a full checkup.
The results were absolutely shocking. He had a broken pelvis, front legs, and jaw. He was dehydrated and malnourished.
The vets did more examinations in order to determine how to proceed further with treatment. They placed him on IV fluids and shaved his legs.
An Important Surgery
The next step was an important surgery for his jaw and legs. He was still too weak for that, so they gave him some painkillers in hopes that it would relax him a bit.
He started losing sensitivity in one of his legs, which was a big problem. The poor pup was not even able to sleep due to the pain.
They were completely shocked by his injuries, and everyone kept wondering how he got them. The rescuers suspected that he was beaten with a big stick.
No one was able to find who had done it yet, but they had no time to think about that now. His time for surgery came.
The pup’s temperature would go up during the night so the vets spent all of their time trying to help him.
A New Hope For Snoopy
After a few days, they found that his jaw was healing but the sensitivity in one of his legs was still not there. This was concerning because the surgery should have fixed it.
The vets did a number of checks and realized something very heartbreaking. His leg would likely not recover as they were too late.
They had to amputate it to prevent any further pain for the dog. This was tragic news but it was ultimately the best thing they could do.
The authorities managed to track down the owner. They found out the dog’s name was Snoopy. His owner was an alcoholic and he neglected his dog, so he will have to face the consequences.
The vets proceeded with the surgery to remove his leg. He would end up recovering completely, so now he only needed a home.
So, the rescuer adopted him and gave him a new life. Snoopy loved spending time with his new dad and dog sibling. I am delighted he got a new chance after everything he’d been through. He deserves it.
