She was kept in a dark basement in a dirty cage where she was bred over and over.
But this was the sweet dog’s lucky day. She was about to leave this dreaded past behind and get a second chance at life. Rescuers picked her up and took her outside where she’d never been before. It was her first time seeing the sunlight, and she had to squint to adjust her eyes.
B.B. is now adapting to a better life with a loving family. When she was first taken home, the exhausted dog slept for a week and a half in order to gain back her strength and clear her traumatized mind. She was skin and bones, but her new mom, Brenda Tortoreo, helped her to put on some much-needed weight.
She loves to run around in the backyard and play with all of her toys. She’d never had a toy before, so mom made sure to shower her with lots of them! B.B. likes being held and any other form of affection that comes with being loved. This is the life she was always meant to live.
She’s in the perfect forever home now, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks to The Humane Society of the United States for continuing to save the lives of unfortunate dogs.
