The Animal Foundation recently shared an update on Dutchess, who was found locked inside a hot car with its mouth taped shut on the Las Vegas Strip last summer.
An animal control thermostat read the temperature inside the car at 107.8 degrees when she was rescued on July 20, 2022.
The shelter says she now lives with a family who adores her and had been quite the traveler, having already been all overNevada, California, and Arizona.
The family says Dutchess also likes to sneak intothe children’s beds and enjoys hanging out with her new fur siblings.
She was pictured with OfficerRybacki, who helped save her and her new family when she was adoptedin August.
The owner of the car, 50-year-oldRaul Carbajal, has been out on bail since July but was recently in court on February 7.
A preliminary hearing for his case was scheduled for May 8.
